Ram Pumps

Our Ram Pumps are made with the same commitment to quality and reliability that characterise our diaphragm pumps. Being simple to maintain and of robust construction, with favourable whole life costs, they have a long established heritage within the Wastewater and Waste process industries.

Our pumps are self-priming and are generally fixed speed although variable speed options can be specified. Both mechanically driven and hydraulically driven variants are available. With flow rates up to 30l/s (≥100m3/hr.) and a maximum working pressure of 16 Bar, these pumps are an alternative to our diaphragm Pumps for more demanding applications.

Non-return valves

As with our diaphragm pumps, incorporated into each ram pump are our specially designed non-return valves, that are renowned for reliability and for being difficult to block.

Our smaller mechanical ram pumps use the same Mallard Bullfrog valve as the diaphragm pumps for pressures of up to 4 Bar. Above these pressures our pumps are fitted with ‘Camel’ Ball valves with either 100mm or 150mm PN16 flange connections.

Surge Arrestors

Due to the flow characteristics of this pump type we recommend that surge arrestors are fitted to most installations. Surge arrestors reduce water hammer, smooth flow and improve the pumps performance leading to a more efficient installation.

Ancillary items

Other ancillary items available with our pumps include anti-condensation heaters, thermistors, over pressure protection and other items. The hydraulic variants can be supplied with bespoke power packs and pre-programmed PLC’s for pump operation.
